Instructions

Things You’ll Need:

  • Fluid pump
  1. 1

Open the hood of the vehicle by pulling the hood release lever underneath the steering column. Prop the hood up with a tension bar, if necessary.

  2. 2

Locate the oil dipstick in the engine cavity. Generally this is near the center of the engine by the radiator. Check the car’s manual for more precise location details. Pull out the dipstick and set it aside in a safe location.

  3. 3

Place the plastic tube of the fluid pump into the dipstick tube. Lock the latch on the tube into the forward position. Pump the handle to draw the fluid up through the hose and into the tank.

  4. 4

Empty the tank into a sealed plastic container. Dispose of the oil at an auto repair shop or a designated city waste plant. Never pour the oil down a drain or sewer.
