Prayer rituals in the Ganges River were disrupted on August 5th as heavy rains swelled the river, reports indicated. Hundreds of devotees saw their prayers disrupted in Uttar Pradesh state by the overflowing river, reports indicated. At least 90 people have died in rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh state in recent weeks. Officials issued flood alerts for 13 districts in the state.
