Pet insurance could come in handy for the 20 per cent of dog and cat owners who admit they cannot afford to pay if they were hit with a significant bill from the vet, according to Gocompare.com. Research from the comparison website found that 60 per cent of cat and dog owners do not have pet insurance, and if faced with a vet’s bill of £500 or more, their pets might not be able to get the treatment they need. Of those without pet insurance, some would pay for the treatment out of their income or savings, while 15 per cent would use their credit card or take out a loan, getting into debt in order to care for their pets.

Music fans are putting a potential £1.3billion worth of downloaded tracks at risk by not protecting them with home insurance, research from Sainsbury’s has found. Brits have spent an estimated £1.3billion on downloading music, an average £85 per person, but only 24 per cent of home insurance policies offer cover for this type of purchase. For one day only, Monday 25 January, Green Insurance company car insurance customers can get 10 per cent off their premiums to cheer them up.
Today has been deemed ‘Blue Monday’ – the most depressing of all the days – by Dr Cliff Arnall, a researcher at Cardiff University; he bases his claim on the weather, debt levels, left over Christmas cheer wearing off, failed New Year’s Resolutions, low motivation and the sense of needing a change.
The Green Insurance Company is urging drivers to ‘go green’ on Blue Monday by choosing environmentally friendly car insurance, which offsets 100 per cent of customers’ emissions.
The Green Insurance Company has planted more than 300,000 trees since it opened for business in 2007, and will plant a further 120,000 trees in 2010. In
