AFL-CIO held a Congress about Unemployment Insurance

Yesterday, in an email blast sent, AFL-CIO has held a congress that task to an end-to-hose unemployment insurance as part of a public relations push for the extension of benefits through 2012. However, Congress has to act now to help with the cost of living nearly 2 million workers who will lose their jobs on December 31, as extended unemployment insurance benefits end. 40,500 people in Tennessee will lose unemployment benefits. During the year 2012 has been estimated that 6 million U.S. workers will struggle to find work because they will lose important benefits. Congress continues to concentrate to keep the tax cuts that have dropped 1% of our economy than to help 99% in expanding unemployment insurance. AFL-CIO has launched a website today.

Adults Put Life Insurance in the Backseat

The number of U.S. adults with life insurance protection dropped to an all-time low in 2011, says a study conducted by the Life Insurance Market and Research Association (LIMRA). The worldwide insurance and financial association revealed that 41 percent of American adults had no life insurance coverage at all last year.

95 Million Adults without Life Insurance Policies

The LIMRA study revealed that nearly half of all U.S. adults are going without life insurance policies. This amounts to approximately 95 million people.

The study found that the likelihood of going without life insurance coverage has dramatically increase for every age group since 2004. While men are more likely than women to carry life insurance policies, both saw a significant lack of coverage with only 61 percent of men and 57 percent of women having some sort of life insurance.
